Agreement

By using the Retrograde Studios website (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. These Terms govern use of the Site only; in-studio services may involve additional waivers, consent forms, and studio policies presented at the appointment.

About the studio

Retrograde Studios is located at 502 State St, New Albany, IN 47150 (Floyd County). Artists featured on the Site include Dave, Eddie, Hana, Lily, and Jaina. Hours, availability, and policies may change; confirm details when booking.

Use of the Site

• The Site is a marketing brochure for our studio and artists.
• You may not misuse the Site (e.g., attempt to disrupt it, scrape it abusively, or use it for unlawful purposes).
• Content is provided “as is” for general information.

Bookings, deposits, and walk-ins

• Booking: Appointments are typically arranged by Direct Message with your preferred artist on Instagram (not via forms on this Site). Walk-ins are welcome during published open hours, subject to artist availability.
• Deposits: Deposits are generally required to hold appointments. Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferable with advance notice, as communicated by the studio or artist.
• Instagram: Leaving this Site for Instagram means Meta’s terms and policies apply to that interaction.

Age requirements for tattoo & piercing services

Under Indiana rules applicable to tattoo and body piercing facilities (including 410 IAC 1-5), a person under 18 years of age generally must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and have written permission to receive tattoo or piercing services. We do not provide services to minors without required accompaniment and documentation. Adults (18+) may receive services without a guardian. Bring valid photo ID as requested by the studio.

Facility permits, artist licenses, and patron notices

Operating a tattoo/piercing facility in Floyd County / Indiana requires applicable facility permits and artist credentials. Maintaining those permits and licenses is the studio’s responsibility. Indiana rules also require facilities to display patron rights information and universal precautions information in the studio. Ask staff if you wish to review posted notices on site.

Permanent nature of tattoos; not medical advice

• Tattoos are intended to be permanent. Results vary by skin, aftercare, and individual factors.
• Content on this Site is not medical, dermatological, or professional health advice. Discuss allergies, medical conditions, medications, pregnancy, and healing concerns with a qualified healthcare provider and disclose relevant information to your artist before service.
• Follow aftercare instructions provided by your artist.

Intellectual property

Site design, text, logos, and original graphics are owned by Retrograde Studios or used with permission. Artist portfolio images remain subject to the rights of the respective artists and the studio. You may not copy, scrape, or reuse Site content for commercial purposes without permission. Custom tattoo designs created for clients are subject to agreements made with the artist/studio.

Links to Instagram, maps, or other sites are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for third-party content or practices.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY INDIANA LAW, RETROGRADE STUDIOS AND ITS OWNERS, ARTISTS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM USE OF THE SITE. LIABILITY RELATED TO IN-PERSON SERVICES IS GOVERNED BY APPLICABLE LAW AND ANY SEPARATE WAIVERS OR AGREEMENTS SIGNED AT THE STUDIO.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Exclusive venue for disputes relating to the Site shall be in state or federal courts serving Floyd County, Indiana, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Changes

We may update these Terms periodically. The “Last updated” date will reflect changes. Continued use of the Site after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
